  • Officers of the Perry Police Department conducted a funeral escort.
  • A wireless 911 was received from a “small child,” and “the only thing he said was ‘mommy’ over and over.” The approximate area of the call was determined, and an officer responded. “A woman then came on the phone” and “said no help is needed, that she was showering and her child got her phone.” The officer “made contact with here” and “verified that everything was okay.”
  • A “burglary alarm was set off” in a local tavern. An officer responded and found two men who said they were “servicing the vending machines there, and they will reset the alarm.” The officer made contact with the tavern owner, who verified the men’s claims.
  • A caller said a “little dog is being tethered in the garage.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said “someone vandalized his bird feeder.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone was “standing in front of the apartment complex” and “acting strangely.” An officer responded and found no one acting strangely.
  • A caller said her 8-year-old child “was bitten by two dogs. One dog bit him in the leg, and the other dog bit the child’s hand.” The caller said “the child had six stitches total.” An officer responded and sought to make contact with the owner of the dogs.
  • A caller said “he can smell his neighbor pouring chemicals in his yard two houses south of his residence.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department and said someone “has been stalking him.” He said the stalker “constantly checks his Facebook page and sends him harassing text messages.” An officer responded and told the man “to stop talking to” his stalker, which was “the same advice he is always advised.”
  • A caller said her daughter “just punched her and ran away from home.” An officer responded, located the child and took her to her home.

May 9, 2017

  • A caller said “a female had come and gotten lottery tickets without paying for them.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a sick skunk by a headstone” in Violet Hill Cemetery. An officer responded and determined the “animal was very ill and could not move.” The officer “decided to leave it and wait for it to expire.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
