Perry steps outside to shoot past Ogden

OGDEN — Ryan Rathje drained 7-of-9 3-point shots and his teammates added seven more to help fuel Perry in a 79-55 whipping of Ogden in a non-conference tilt Saturday.

Perry (4-3) held leads of 16-11 after one period and of 33-26 at the half before a 17-10 spurt in the third quarter helped put the game away by giving the Bluejays a 50-36 edge entering the fourth period.

Rathje had his second impressive outing in a row. He led all scorers with 26 points, grabbed six rebounds, made six steals, blocked four shots and distributed three assists along the way.

Shammond Ivory had 20 points, seven boards and five assists, with Kyle Nevitt adding 13 points and five assists while Janier Puente provided seven points, six caroms and three steals.

Perry also received six points from Sean Riley, three from Alex Long and two each from Conner Nielsen and Drew Levan, with Riley pulling down four boards while Long had four rebounds and five assists.

Graham Tews scored 24 points for the Bulldogs (3-5), with Nathan Kennedy adding 12 points and Bryce Snedden 10. Six points from Noah Snedden, two from Derek Reutter and a free throw from Andrew Haberer capped the Ogden scoring.

Perry is off until Jan. 5 when ADM visits for a Raccoon River Conference twin set.
