Perry Volunteer Fire Department halts rural blaze

Quick action by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department Thursday afternoon prevented the spread of a brush fire threatening neighboring power poles and structures along U.S. Highway 169 and 310th Street in Boone County.

A rapid response by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department to a rural brush fire in southern Boone County Thursday afternoon prevented the blaze from reaching neighboring power poles and buildings.

The uncontrolled burn broke out at 709 310th St. on property belonging to Gary and Linda Friedrichsen. The Perry firefighters were called to assistance by Boone County EMS.
