The Perry Water Works has issued the following public service announcement:

Beginning Tuesday, June 23, the Perry Water Works will be changing the chlorine dose that is added to our water from a combined chlorine residual to a free chlorine residual.  This is necessary from time to time to control the formation of nitrite in the water distribution system.

You may experience an unpleasant taste and odor of the water for a few days as this free chlorine residual works its way through the water distribution system.  This should clear up after a day or two.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
