The community is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Opportunities Garden, a new home-grown program of the New Opportunities Dallas County Family Development Center, also known as the Perry-Area Food Pantry.
The ribbon cutting is Friday, Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Opportunities Garden, 2810 First Ave. in Perry. Visitors can learn more about this new program and thank the volunteers and businesses that made it possible. The Perry-Area Chamber of Commerce will stage the cutting at 2:30 p.m.
New Opportunities Director Karen Ventura will be on hand to talk about the garden, the upcoming school supply drive and many other programs available at New Opportunities.
