Teams gather at Lake Panorama National Monday for Panther Invitational

PANORA — Centerville dominated play at the Panorama Girls Invitational Monday, winning the nine-hole event with a team score of 189.

Panorama’s 244 was three strokes better than Woodward-Granger’s 247 to claim second place, with Des Moines Christian fourth at 264 and Earlham fifth at 279.

Elizabeth Meng and Cheyenne Chapman of Centerville won the top medalist honors with round of 45 and 46, respectively. Teammates Emily Moorman and Madeline McDonald each tallied cards of 49 as the Redettes had the only rounds under 50.

Madi Fear and Anna Duis both produced scores of 58 for the host Panthers, with Cassie Labath shooting a 62 and Maggie Smith a 66. Savana Mobley (66) and Lauren McClatchey (67) also made the circuit for Panorama, as did Panther junior varsity players Chloe Webster and Taylor Raibikis (both 64), Jensen Wilke (68) and Alex Kurth (72).

Cierra DeHoet led W-G with a 52, with Ashland James carding a 54, Paige Mescher a 68 and Aubrey Mescher a 73.

Anna Swaim (57), Cece Sturdivant (59), Ashley Kimani (69) and Caroline Dunn (69) were DMC’s four scorers, with Kari Coulter (54), Kate Eckard (70), Meredith Hochstetler (74) and Kaylee Hohertz (82) scoring for Earlham.

Kena Baier (64) and Haley Sheeder (78) played for AC/GC and Sydney Weise (63) and Sophia Harshberger (68) for Madrid, but neither team had the four required scores to generate an official team total.
