An Iowa State Patrol trooper inspects damage to a passenger car involved in a three-vehicle mishap shortly before noon Saturday on U.S. Highway 169 in Boone County.

A three-vehicle collision occurred about 11:45 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 169 near 300th Street in Boone County.

The circumstances causing the pileup are unknown at this hour, and the Iowa State Patrol was not available for comment.

The accident appeared to involve a passenger car, a passenger minivan and a pickup truck. The truck and minivan came to rest in the roadway of U.S. Highway 169, with the passenger vehicle coming to rest in the east ditch about 50 yards north of the other vehicles, all of which sustained serious damage.

Radio traffic indicated only minor injuries were sustained by some occupants of the vehicles.

The Iowa State Patrol, Dallas County Sheriff’s office, Boone County Sheriff’s office, Dallas County EMS and Boone County EMS responded to the incident.
