If you have a child or grandchild age 4 years or younger, you’ll want to bring them to a free event May 6. It’s Toddler Fest, held at the Dallas County fairgrounds on the north end of Adel along U.S. Highway 169.

This is an indoor event held rain or shine.

Toddler Fest offers lots of fun for the very young as well as important and helpful information for the adults who love them. The free activities include interaction with costumed characters, friendly farm animals and age-appropriate activities.

Many of the agencies and organizations present will have giveaways for the little ones.

Parents and grandparents will welcome the opportunity to ask questions and pick up literature on topics related to the physical, educational and emotional well-being of their whole family. Representatives from clinics, preschools, and agencies offering parenting classes will be available.

For safety, the Dallas County Sheriff Department will make free photo IDs for children.

Toddler Fest is sponsored by 4RKids Early Childhood Iowa and by the Dallas County Library Association.

Toddler Fest will be held Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Dallas County Fairgrounds, 28059 Fairground Road in Adel. Admission is free.

Ann Cochran is the health navigation coordinator in the Dallas County Public Health Department.
