Perry senior Janier Puente went down to get this pitch, which he drove back up the middle for a base hit against Carroll Wednesday.

Boone completed a season sweep of Perry in Raccoon River Conference baseball with a 14-4 victory at Progressive Field Thursday.

The Toreadors (12-7, 7-3) scored six runs in the top of the third and added a seventh run in the fifth, but the Bluejays (5-14, 4-6) countered with a four-spot to close their deficit to 7-4.

Singles by Aaron Lockwood and Justin Stammer, a wild pitch and a Kaleb Olejniczak RBI-base hit brought in the first two Perry runs, with a RBI-ground out from Kyle Nevitt and a RBI-single from Janier Puente plated the next pair.

Adan Medina and Brandon Kenyon followed with hits to load the bases with two outs, but the hosts were unable to add to the damage done.

Boone put the game out of reach with seven runs in the top of the seventh.

Jayden Hull was 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBIs for the visitors, with Evan Appenzeller and Brett Price each adding two singles and two RBIs.

Spencer Turner allowed eight hits and a walk in collecting the complete game win. He yielded four runs and finished with 10 strikeouts.

Puente tossed all seven frames for Perry, surrendering 14 runs on 11 hits. He walked five batters, hit two with pitches and struck out five.

Kenyon had two hits and a pair of stolen bases, with Olejniczak, Nevitt, Puente, Medina, Lockwood and Stammer having one single apiece. Lockwood, Stammer, Olejniczak and Puente scored for the Jays.

Perry visits Knoxville for a non-conference contest tonight and will travel to Carlisle for a RRC tilt Monday.
