A two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 169 near 340th Street in Boone County Sunday afternoon slowed weekend traffic on the busy road as emergency personnel responded to the incident.

The cause of the incident and extent of injuries, if any, to the vehicles’ occupants are unknown at this time.

A woman who said she witnessed the collision said she was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 169 behind a black Jeep Wrangler Sport. The Jeep was following a silver Chevrolet HHR, she said. At at a point about one-quarter mile north of 340th Street, the Chevy pulled onto the shoulder and made a U-turn, striking the Jeep.

Responding to the incident were the Perry First Responders, Perry Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County EMS, Boone County EMS, Ogden Police Department and Boone County Sheriff’s office.
