The lifeless bodies of two people and a seriously wounded third were found about 8 p.m. in a Perry house by officers of the Perry Police Department. The cause and circumstances of the deaths are unknown at this hour. Both deceased victims and the injured are adults; no children are believed have been involved in the incident.

The house at 802 Sixth St. was quarantined by Perry police as investigations began. The property is owned by Patricia Noda, according to county records, and appears to be a rental property.

The Perry Police Department and Perry First Responders were first on the scene, and a Dallas County EMS ambulance arrived to take the injured person, a male in his 50s or 60s, to the Dallas County Hospital for air transport to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner was summoned to the scene.

The helicopter left the hospital at 9 p.m. According to radio traffic, the injured male had multiple lacerations to his face and hands as the result of an assault.

“They’re a very normal family,” said a neighbor at the scene, a woman named Lori. “They always say, ‘Hi,’ when we pass and are out mowing their lawn. The police were just here yesterday when the little boy got his leg caught in the tree.”

The house at 802 Sixth St. was the scene of a call for service Friday when a child got his leg stuck in the groin of a tree.

  1. Uh, any way you could pull down the location of the dude from Perry brought to Methodist? It seems unsafe to have released his location with a violent perp at large. Think of the safety of all the healthcare workers and other patients

    • According to police, no suspect is sought in this incident, so there is no “violent perp at large.” Nevertheless, we commend your concern for public safety, and we share it.

  2. There may not be a specific suspect being sought, but whoever killed the other people and apparently tried to kill this man is most certainly still at large. The survivor is a witness and as such could in danger. Publishing his current location puts him at risk as well as possibly putting the hospital staff at risk.
