UPDATE: Driver’s blood sugar not only issue when car enters ditch

Marty Allen Adair, 48, 307 N.E. Mill St., Leon, was arrested shortly before midnight Monday by officers of the Perry Police on charges of first-offense OWI-drug related and driving under suspension after his vehicle entered the ditch near First Avenue and Iowa Highway 141.

A Leon, Iowa, man was arrested late Monday when his vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch just south of Iowa Highway 141 on County Road P58 near Perry.

Marty Allen Adair, 48, 307 N.E. Mill St., Leon, was arrested about midnight by officers of the Perry Police Department on charges of first-offense OWI-drug related and driving under suspension.

Initial reports indicated Adair’s blood-sugar level caused him to lose control of the vehicle and drive into the ditch near the Kum & Go at 1115 Iowa Highway 141.

Adair was not apparently injured in the incident but was treated at the scene by the Dallas County EMS and later taken to the Dallas County Hospital for observation.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
