Law enforcement agencies are seeking a Story County man on first-degree robbery charges after he allegedly robbed people at gun point following a traffic accident Monday afternoon in Boone.

The incident began when officers of the Boone Police Department were called to the 200 block of Carroll Street in Boone about 3:30 p.m. Monday on the report of a car accident and robbery.

Victims and witnesses told police that a white male, possibly wearing a security guard or police-type uniform, pointed a handgun at the victims and stole their cell phones, car keys and an undisclosed amount of cash.

They said the suspect fled in a vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding Steenhoek and his whereabouts should call 911
