Update: Two medalists lift Perry girls to fourth place at Winterset Tourney

WINTERSET — The Perry girls placed fourth in a seven team field at the 18-hole Winterset Tournament Saturday.

Creston won the meet with a score of 408, with Perry finishing with 414 strokes. Chariton was only a stroke from the win with a 409 while DC-G placed third with a 412. Norwalk (436), Winterset (458) and Van Meter (467) completed the field.

Senior Brooke Huntington led Perry with a round of 45-45–90, the second-lowest individual score. Teammate Alyssa Kruger, a junior, tied for the third-lowest round with a 46-46–92.

Junior Skylar Cunningham had a 59-52–111 and sophomore Delaney Eiteman a 64-57–121 to account for the Perry scoring. Madyson Hill (61-69–130) also competed for the Jayettes.

Ashton Carter was the overall medalist after leading Creston with her 42-43–85.

Perry will return to action Monday when they host Carroll and will then be off until joining the Perry boys for the annual Witmer-Dunphy Coed Invitational April 24.
