WOODWARD — The Woodward Golf and Country Club served as host site for Monday’s girls Class 2A Region 2B tourney, but a home course advantage was not enough to enable the host Hawks to advance to the sectional round May 22.

South Hamilton edged BCLUW, 400-401, for top team honors, with both squads extending their season. Van Meter was third at 434, with Des Moines Christian (440), W-G (455), Central Decatur (459) and Pleasantville (463) also in action.

Van Meter’s Molley Carey was the overall medalist with her round of 86, with Lily Simon of Central Decatur the runner-up at 89. BCLUW’s Mackenzie Trinkle (96), South Hamilton’s Jenna Woodall (98) and DMC’s Cece Sturdivant (98) completed the top five, all of whom advance as individual qualifiers.

Cierra de Hoet paced the host Hawks with her 53-49–102, with Paige Mescher shooting 48-60–108. Aubrey Mescher produced a 59-53–112 and Ashland James a 71-62–133 for W-G.

Pleasantville’s low scorer with Emma Jahner with a 53-54–107.
