Wildcats stop Jayettes in straight sets

CARLISLE — Scores of 25-13, 25-9 and 25-15 carried Carlisle to sweep of Perry in Raccoon River Conference volleyball Monday.

The win lifts the hosts to 13-13 overall and 4-2 in conference play while Perry drops to 5-21, 0-7.

Jo Diw had six kills, Isabel Saemisch and Gabby West two each and Sid Vancil and Quinn Whiton one each for Perry, with Vancil providing 11 assists and Syd Guerra one.

Guerra had nine digs, Diw six, Vancil four and West one to lead the Jayette defense.

Saemisch served 8-9-2 and Vancil 8-8-1, with Guerra 4-of-5, Diw 4-of-6 and Kacy Nevitt 2-of-3. Whiton and Mackenzie Ayers were both 1-of-1 and Jaqueline Guardado 1-of-2.

Perry will compete Saturday in the Knoxville Tournament, then conclude their regular season Monday with a visit from Greene County.
