Woodward's boil advisory was lifted Thursday afternoon.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced the two sets of water samples have tested clean of bacteria, allowing the city of Woodward to lift a boil advisory issued last Friday after a series of water main breaks.

When water pressure drops, it creates the potential for bacteria to get into the water distribution system.  The DNR issues boil advisories as a precaution to protect residents, especially the most vulnerable in the population.
