
A Waukee man was arrested Tuesday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a Sept. 27 incident in which he allegedly assaulted his wife in the home.
David Bruce Stitt II, 50, of 793 Collins Dr., Waukee, was charged with third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault.
The incident occurred about 7:45 a.m. Sept. 27 in the 700 block of Collins Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Stitt allegedly “struck the victim on or about the head several times” and “grabbed the victim, pulling her out of a truck” and “causing her to fall to the ground,” according to court records.
Stitt also allegedly “pulled her hair on the back of her head” and “was throwing things
around the trailer,” according to court records.
The alleged assault was witnessed by the victim’s son. Stitt left the area prior to the arrival of police.
A warrant for Stitt’s arrest was ordered Sept. 28 in Dallas County District Court and served Oct. 4. He is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
Stitt was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 1994 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 1998 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of assault causing bodily injury in 2000 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 2007 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2013 in Madison County District Court. He was convicted of assault in 2018 in Dallas County District Court.
