A Waukee man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly exposing his nudity to two female truck drivers as he drove on U.S. Interstate 80.

Shawn Steven Assman, 38, of 2645 Serenity Dr., Waukee, was charged with indecent exposure in Dallas County and Cass County.

The Cass County incident began about 7 a.m. Tuesday on eastbound U.S. Interstate 80 near the 57 mile marker, where Cass County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report from a female trucker that a man “exposed himself and his genitalia to her while she was driving in her semi,” according to court records.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Assman, in a black Ford F150, was allegedly “driving alongside her from anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes and he continued to expose himself on and off to her,” according to court records.

The Dallas County incident began about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday on eastbound U.S. Interstate 80 near the 105 mile marker, where officers of the De Soto Police Department responded to a report of driver who “was exposing himself to a female truck driver and refusing to pass her,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Assman, driving in a black Ford F150, “pulled up next to her” semi-tractor trailer and  gave her a “thumbs up” before he allegedly “exposed his private area” to the victim and “pulled off his pants and began to pleasure himself,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that she tried to slow her vehicle down in order to “to get a license plate number off of the black F150,” but Assman “slowed down with her and would not pass her,” according to court records.

Officers of the De Soto Police Department interviewed Assman, who allegedly “admitted to masturbating two times before being arrested,” according to court records.

Assman was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

A warrant for Assman’s arrest was ordered Thursday in Cass County District Court and served Thursday. Assman was held in the Cass County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for an initial appearance Nov. 26 in Cass County District Court.
