The fog advisory issued Saturday by the National Weather Service in Des Moines expired Sunday at 9 a.m., but Sunday is predicted to be overcast with higher than average temperatures.
Visibility was reduced to less than one-quarter mile between about 3-5 a.m. Sunday as the Perry area was layered in ground-level clouds.
Shakespeare wrote of “fen-sucked fogs drawn by the powerful sun,” and the antique description suits Perry’s riverside weather during the warm and wet harvest season.
