August 21, 2017

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order to speak with an officer about “a young girl he saw walking near his home.” An officer responded.
  • Diante Watson, 28, 1107 Rittenhouse St., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of violation of a protective order.
  • A caller said her daughter “received a threatening phone call from a blocked number in the middle of the night.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said her 7-year-old son ran away. While still on the line, the caller said her son returned. An officer responded and made contact with the child, who said he “was mad at his mom.” The officer “explained the importance of not running away.”
  • A 911 caller asked that “an officer remove her boyfriend from the residence.” The caller “wouldn’t give her name” and “didn’t know the address” from which she was calling. When the call was disconnected, a dispatcher tried to call back, but the number was not in service. The “call did not map.”
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said a “caller accused her of continually calling him.” The woman “said she’s never called that number before.” An officer responded and said the caller “was probably someone attempting to scam her and not to answer calls from that number.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but “was not able to catch it.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department would “stand by while he removes his belongings.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone called him and said, “Is this your Avalanche?” When the caller said it was, “the caller then said, ‘I’m going to bash your vehicle.'” The caller said he “looked outside, and no one was there, and his vehicle was not damaged.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone told him “she was having the police watch his residence and then report back to her.” An officer responded and said the claim “was untrue.”

August 22, 2017

  • A caller said he “needed to report his girlfriend’s daughter” was “missing.” The caller said the daughter “hasn;t come home, and he believes she is with an adult male in Des Moines,” and “that she met the male online.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
