Perry Public Library Assistant Director Misty VonBehren assembled the clues, puzzles and locked boxes for Saturday's "A Christmas Story" escape room.

About 25 people kicked off their holiday festivities at Saturday’s “A Christmas Story” escape room at the Perry Public Library.

The 90-minute event challenged participants to navigate their way out of an escape room with the popular “A Christmas Story” theme.

With a wicked media company threatening to lock the beloved film of the slightly dysfunctional Parker family’s story of leg lamps, bunny suits and BB guns into its archives forever, participants had to find clues, solve puzzles, unlock boxes and save the Christmas classic beloved by all.

Players fortified themselves with refreshments while “A Christmas Story” played in the background. Happily for all lovers of the film, it was successfully liberated from the clutches of the wicked media company thanks to the diligence and sharp wits of the attendees.

“May the fate of net neutrality be this happy,” said one lover of “A Christmas Story.”
