GUTHRIE CENTER — Host AC/GC twice rallied to tie Monday’s WCAC softball game with Woodward-Granger, eventually winning the game thanks to two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

W-G trailed, 2-1, after the first frame but scored twice in the second to take a 3-2 lead. AC/GC tied the game with a run in the third, then countered a single Hawk tally with a run of their own in the fifth as the score moved to 4-all. Two Charger tallies in the sixth proved the difference.

Rian Jamison pitched all six frames for the Hawks, allowing six runs (three earned) on 10 hits and a walk. She finished with four strikeouts.

Emma Anderson had a double, a single, three stolen bases, two runs scored and two runs driven in. Katelyn Scharlau had two singles and a RBI, with Audrey Simmons adding a double and Maddi Danti a base hit. Natalie Weaver drove in a run, with Brylee Bice and Ava Petersen each scoring once.

Savanna Fuller allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out eight in collecting the win off the rubber.

Fuller hit a triple and a single and finished with two RBIs. Madalyn Kelsey hit a solo home run and added two singles to help the hosts to the victory.

W-G visits Van Meter for a WCAC twin bill Thursday before playing at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday as they host Grand View Christian and Saydel for the Phil Creese Classic.
