Kyle and Mindy Baxter, owners of AccuJet Sewer and Drain Cleaning, celebrated their first 10 years in business with an open house Friday afternoon at their shop at 12161 J Ave. near Perry.

Many friends from the local community and satisfied customers from around the state joined the Baxters, congratulating them on their entrepreneurial successes.

AccuJet works regularly with some of the Des Moines metro’s largest construction contractors. Among the open house guests were Monte Wyatt, president of Action Coach, Steve Frame, senior project manager with Elder Corp. and Ed Origer, senior estimator with McAninch Corp.

Sharing the beer and brisket were also a host of AccuJet employees, including  Zeke Trinidad, Jonathan Woodley, Zach Barnhouse, Cory Beidler, Nick Deardorff, Tyler Alexander, Joe Davis, Nate Lenz and Chrissy Danger.

Company well wisher Bob Danger prepared his trademark beef brisket, which perfectly complemented the keg beer, while Tiffany the company mascot sniffed visitors kindly and kept well downwind of the brisket.

A small knot of PHS grads from the 1970s could occasionally be glimpsed drinking directly from the tap as they recaptured the glories of their youth.
