Adair man arrested for dealing meth, willful injury, weapons charge

Justin Paul Parker, 38, of Adair was arrested Sunday in Cumberland, Iowa, on charges of possession with intent to deliver-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and on Dallas County warrants for assault-use or display of a weapon and willful injury-causing bodily injury.

An Adair man was arrested on drug charges Sunday in Cumberland, Iowa, by Cass County Deputy Sheriffs in the course of being served two Dallas County arrest warrants.

Justin Paul Parker, 38, of 711 Guthrie St., Adair, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and on Dallas County warrants for assault-use or display of a weapon and willful injury-causing bodily injury.

According to court records, the arresting officers found Parker in possession of 15.22 grams of methamphetamine and a number of syringes and other drug paraphernalia.

Parker is held without bond in the Dallas County Jail. He is scheduled for an initial appearance Feb. 14 in Dallas County District Court and a preliminary hearing Feb. 22 in Cass County District Court

Parker has a record of prior convictions. He was convicted of assault causing bodily injury in 2003 in Adair County District Court, willful injury-causing bodily injury in 2008 in Adair County District Court, child endangerment and domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness in 2013 in Guthrie County District Court and first-degree and second-degree harassment in 2018 in Adair County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
