An Adel man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly knocking his fiance’s mother to the floor.
Bailey Mark Harrison, 24, of 1404 Greene St., Adel, was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Greene Street, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.
Officers made contact with Harrison, who told the officers that “he wanted his future mother-in-law” to “leave his apartment,” and “he got angry and pushed a chair that” the victim “was sitting in,” causing the victim “to fall to the ground on her back,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with the victim, who confirmed the veracity of Harrison’s statements, according to court records.
The officers observed a red mark on the victim’s neck, which the victim said was caused by “her hitting a piece of furniture as the chair she was sitting in was pushed over by” Harrison. The victim also complained of pain in her wrists, according to court records.
Harrison is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 3 in Dallas County District Court.
Harrison was convicted of disorderly conduct in 2018 in Dallas County District Court.
