An Adel man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Sunday for allegedly breaking down his neighbor’s door and spitting in her face.
Jeffrey Scott Riggen, 55, of 817-B St., Adel, was charged with assault.
The warrant was ordered Oct 5 in Dallas County District Court and served Sunday in connection with the incident that occurred about 8 p.m. Oct. 3 in the 800 block of Main Street in Adel, where an officer of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The victim told the officer that Riggen allegedly “kicked her door in” after she and Riggen had “an argument regarding smoking.”
The victim said Riggen “came up the stairs to the apartment” and “then spit in her face and walked out of the apartment.”
Riggen was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to being released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Nov. 10 in Dallas County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is innocent until and unless proven guilty.
