An Adel man allegedly spat upon officers of the Adel Police Department who arrested him Wednesday night.
Jeremy James Frame, 21, of 320 Nile Kinnick Dr. N., Adel, was charged with assault by inmate with bodily fluids or secretions, interference with official acts and public intoxication.
The incident began about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Greene Street in Adel, where Frame was allegedly “found to be intoxicated” by officers of the Adel Police Department, according to court records.
When officers tried to arrest Frame, he allegedly “attempted to run from officers,” according to court records, and he “continued to resist arrest until he was handcuffed.”
Once placed in the back of the Adel Police Department patrol vehicle, Frame allegedly “began hitting his head on the cage” and when officers tried to prevent his self-harm, Frame “ran out of the back of the patrol vehicle and fled the scene,” according to court records.
When the officers again detained Frame “and secured his feet with shackles,” he “began spitting at the officers.”
Frame refused to submit to a preliminary breath test “or independent chemical test” after his arrest, according to court records.
Frame is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $6,600 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 6 in Dallas County District Court.
Frame was arrested Sept. 14 on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and two counts of interference with official acts in connection with a Sept. 11 incident in which he allegedly head-butted his girlfriend before running away from officers of the Adel Police Department.
