An Adel man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines man in Adel and then resisting arrest by officers of the Adel Police Department.
Zachery Michael Davidson, 34, of 201 S. 10th St., Adel, was charged with assault with intent to inflict serious injury, first-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and interference with official acts.
The incident began about 8:45 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Court Street in Adel, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.
The officers arrived as Davidson allegedly “ran towards the victim and attempted to tackle him to the ground” and then “hit the victim twice,” according to court records.
Davidson allegedly threatened to kill the victim, and he actively resisted detainment and damaged the interior of the patrol car, according to court records.
Davidson is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 19 in Dallas County District Court.
