Adel man charged with striking fellow Adel man

Alexander Christopher Ramsell, 32, of Adel was arrested Thursday on a charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

An Adel man was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly striking another Adel man in the face “multiple times.”

Alexander Christopher Ramsell, 32, of 1219 Main St., Adel, was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 4 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Main Street, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.

According to court records, Ramsell allegedly struck the male victim “with his hand while he was holding a phone.” Ramsell allegedly hit the victim “in the face with his hand multiple times, causing redness and swelling to the victim’s head.”

Ramsell allegedly “admitted to striking the victim,” according to court records.

Ramsell was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to his release on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for arraignment Sept. 16 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
