ADEL, Iowa — An Adel man was killed Tuesday night after his motorcycle crashed on Old Highway 6 near L Avenue, the Dallas County Sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
The sheriff’s statement said the crash occurred about 8:24 p.m. Douglas Randolph, 53, of rural Adel was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“The motorcycle appeared to have lost control going around the curve at Old Highway 6 and L Avenue, causing it to enter the south ditch and come to rest in a field,” the sheriff said. “The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, which was a contributing factor in the accident.”
The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was assisted in the incident by the Adel Police Department, De Soto Police Department, Dallas County EMS and Adel Volunteer Fire Department.
