An Adel man was arrested Wednesday evening after allegedly issuing threats outside a woman’s home to assault her husband.
Travis Wayne Rhiner, 34, of 521 Ridgeline Dr., Adel, was charged with second-degree harassment.
The incident began about 8 p.m. in the 400 block of N. 12th Street in Adel, where an officer of the Adel Police Department responded to a report that Rhiner “was outside the victim’s house, making threats,” according to court records.
Rhiner was not at the scene when the officer arrived.
The victim told the officer that Rhiner allegedly “sent text messages, threatening to beat her husband up,” according to court records, and Rhiner allegedly “sent a picture of the victim’s home to the victim’s cousin.”
The officer later observed Rhiner operating a motor vehicle, and an improper brake light on the vehicle gave the officer probable cause to initiate a traffic stop, according to court records.
According to court records, Rhiner allegedly showed the officer the text messages on his phone, and he was placed under arrest.
Rhiner is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
