ADEL, Iowa — The ADM High School Drama Department will present a pair of one-act plays next weekend, “Parker and the City in the Sea,” written by Ian August and published by Uproar Theatrics, and “Laughing Stock,” written by Bradley Hayward and published by Heuer Publishing LLC.

The performances will be held at the ADM High School Auditorium at 801 Nile Kinnick Dr. S. in Adel on Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m.

ADM Drama Director Molly Longman said the plays celebrate the imagination.

“The evening will have you laughing and crying as these diverse plays explore how imagination can protect you or expand your life in new ways,” Longman. “‘Parker and the City in the Sea’ is about a brother and sister searching for something to heal the deep wounds that life has inflicted. ‘Laughing Stock’ uses imagination to show that life is what you make it in this madcap comedy.”

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and ADM staff members. The ADM Drama Department is doing online ticket sales and reserved seating for this production. Attendees are advised to purchase their tickets in advance and bring them to the theatre, where they will be scanned at the door.

Tickets will also be sold at the door, and payment will be accepted in cash or check only.
