Cold-shooting from host Perry and a 15-7 run from ADM in the third quarter combined to lift the Tigers to a 51-36 win over the Jayettes in Raccoon River Conference basketball Tuesday.
Perry (4-6, 1-3) hit just 14-of-46 shots (30 percent) from the field while ADM (4-4, 3-1) connected on 21-of-40 (53 percent), a differential that, paired with a 31-15 advantage in the second half, helped send the Tigers home as victors.
Perry trailed 10-4 in the late stages of the first quarter but scored five of the last seven points to close to within 12-9, with the final points a 3-pointer at the horn from Grace Marburger.
Brianna Mueller scored eight of her 11 points in the first half to spark ADM, with Taylor Lathrum fueling Perry with eight of her 14 points before the break. Marburger drained a 25-footer for her 10th and final points just as the halftime buzzer sounded to give the Jayettes a 21-20 lead at the intermission.
The hosts led, 25-23, two minutes into the second half but suddenly went ice cold from the floor as the Tigers surged to a 35-28 lead after three periods.
Perry sank only 5-of-22 shots after the break, with ADM knocking down 11-of-19 attempts. Senior Molly Jacobsen hit two 3-pointers and junior Sydney Bertman scored 12 of her game-high 16 points in the second half to help the visitors pull away with a 16-8 edge in the final eight minutes that produced the 15-point victory.
Lathrum added seven rebounds to her 14 points, with Marburger adding four assists and a steal to her 10 points for Perry. Emma Olejniczak had seven points, five rebounds and three assists, with Jo Diw tallying three points, five boards, four steals and an assist while Alyssa Kruger had a basket and Mariah Duffy a pair of assists.
Jacobsen finished with nine points and Allie Cook with eight for ADM, with Sydney Canney adding four points, Ellie Mueller two and Gabbie Glenn one.
Perry will travel to Winterset Friday before hosting Roland-Story Saturday at 1 p.m. Boys games will follow the girls action on both dates.
