DES MOINES — Josh Pike scored off a Jacob Yanacek assist in the 52nd minute to lift ADM to a 2-1 win over Pella at the 2A Boys State Soccer Tournament.

The victory sends fifth-seeded ADM (15-4) to a 2:30 p.m. match Thursday against top-seed Xavier (13-5), a 1-0 winner over Marion (12-7) Tuesday. The contest will be held of Field 9.

DC-G (17-3) faces Bondurant-Farrar (17-3) in a two-vs-three seed semifinal Thursday as well. B-F topped Sergeant Bluff-Luton, 4-1, with ADM a 2-1 winner over Pella in their quarterfinal bouts. The championship is slated for Saturday on Field 9 at 2:30 p.m.

The Tigers were on the board first Tuesday when Pike stretched the onion bag early in the first half.

The score remained unchanged until shortly after the intermission when Little Dutch attacker Isaac Semini found the nylon in the 47th minute to knot the score at 1-all.

That simply set the stage for what proved to be the winner, with Yanacek passing to Pike, who finished the play by netting the game-winner five minutes after Semini’s score.

ADM goalie Logan Krantz and the Tiger defense played well down the stretch to keep Pella at bay and earn a spot in the final four.
