All-State honors for W-G juniors Jamison, Bice

GRANGER — Shortstop Reese Jamison and pitcher Alex Bice have both been named to the Class 2A All-State squads by the Iowa High School Coaches Association. Jamison was selected for the First Team, with Bice a Second Team choice as a utility player.

Jamison batted .458 with a .560 on base percentage and a .625 slugging clip. He scored 34 runs and drove in 30 while stealing 17-of-21 bases. Jamison had 44 hits, including 13 doubles and a home run, and drew 21 bases on balls.

Bice was 5-1 on the mound with one save in 44-2/3 innings of work. He struck out 49 batters and issued just 19 walks. Bice finished with a 1.88 ERA and allowed opposing batters to hit just .149.

W-G was 23-8 overall and 16-g in WCAC, reaching the district finals. The Hawks are coached by Eric Evans.
