Allen Jensen, 82, of Ankeny passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
A graveside service will be held at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa, on Thursday, May 19 at 11 a.m.
Allen Dean Jensen was born April 26, 1940, in Blair, Nebraska, to James and Regina (Dorzinski) Jensen.
He attended school at Rippey and Minburn, graduating with the class of 1958.
Allen served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1966.
He was united in marriage to Linda Lou Madren at Princeton, Missouri, Dec. 6, 1960.
Allen worked for John Deere in Ankeny for 30 years, farmed near Madrid and after retiring from John Deere, he drove truck for U.S. Postal Service.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ankeny and the John Deere retirees’ group.
Allen enjoyed working with animals, farming, square dancing, travelling and visiting with family and friends.
In death he rejoins his parents, James and Regina Jensen.
Left to cherish Allen’s memory are his wife, Linda Jensen of Ankeny; son, James Jensen of Madrid; daughter, Debbie (Jonathan Koughn) Simmer of Perry; granddaughter, Jessica (William Lifer Jr.) Simmer of Perry; sister, Adele Clermont of Pueblo, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
