PANORA — If Panorama student Alex Kurtz wakes up smiling Tuesday morning, she will have a good reason.
Monday afternoon Kurtz achieved what millions of duffers everywhere seek: a hole-in-one. The freshmen stood on the tee on the 120-yard seventh hole of the Lake Panorama National Golf Course with a five wood in her hand. One swing later, and her blue Nike mojo ball found the bottom of the cup.
Kurtz is one of 17 girls out for the Panthers and first-year head coach Melissa Hochstetler. Whether the fresman cracks the varsity lineup or not, she will at least have the greatest of golf memories: From tee to cup in one swing.
