Presidential candidate Andrew Yang will return to Dallas County Sunday, Jan. 19 for a town hall meeting in Van Meter.

The rally will be held at the Van Meter American Legion Post 403 at 910 Main St. in Van Meter. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the event begins at 7 p.m.

Yang directs many of his policy proposals in his relation to the emerging economy of automation and artificial intelligence. Among his notable proposals is a $1,000-a-head universal basic income, an idea floated in similar form by Milton Friedman, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Richard Nixon and others.

“We can force corporations to pay their fair share and rewrite the rules of the economy to work for us,” Yang said, “but we can only do it together.”
