An Ankeny woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly assaulting a Waukee man outside a Waukee residence.

Alexis Ann Camp, 21, of 1410 N.W. Maple St., Ankeny, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 7:30 p.m. outside a residence in the 700 block of N.E. Horizon Drive in Waukee.

According to court records, Camp allegedly “did put her hand on the victim” and “was seen striking the victim by swinging her arms.”

Officers of the Waukee Police Department observed on the victim “a mark on his left bicep,” according to court records.

Camp was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 1 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
