Anne Denger, 80, of Perry passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.

Her family will be gathering to greet friends Thursday, Nov. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry.

Memorials will be given to Kavanagh House Hospice and may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.

Anne Etta Denger was born Oct. 8, 1938, at Anamosa, Iowa, to Arthur Thomas Manly and Mae Eliza (Armstrong) Siver.

She graduated from Martelle Consolidated Schools. She continued her education at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant from 1956 to 1958 and achieved her bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista College at Storm Lake in 1980.

Anne was united in marriage to Kenneth Charles Denger June 4, 1960.

She taught second grade at Olin Consolidated School from 1958 to 1960 and then three years at Walker Elementary School and five years of remedial reading at East Greene. Anne finished her career teaching fourth grade at East Greene, retiring in May 1998.

Anne was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed shopping, putting together jigsaw puzzles, completing crossword puzzles and following the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

Anne loved spending time with her grandchildren, daughters and son-in-law, Dutch.

In death she rejoins her parents, Arthur and Mae Siver; and brother, Thomas (Nola) Manly Armstrong Siver.

Left to cherish Anne’s memory are her husband, Kenneth Denger of Perry; daughters, Sandra Denger of Overland Park, Kan., and Jacqui (Dutch) Tryon of Topeka, Kan.; grandchildren, Kolin Ray and Katelyn Jo Schroeder; and her sister, LaVerta (Lou) Mae Langenberg.
