
An Arizonan was arrested Thursday on Dallas County warrants in connection with an Aug. 1 incident in which he was first allegedly found in possession of drugs and later that day allegedly assaulted a jailer in the Dallas County Jail.
Eddie John, 38, of 8215 W. Cactus Road, Peoria, Arizona, was charged with first-offense OWI, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and assault on persons in certain occupations-intent of injury.
John was released from the Dallas County Jail Aug. 7 after posting $3,300 bond. An arrest warrant was ordered Aug. 28 after John failed to appear for arraignment. Bond was set at $25,000.
John is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $26,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 30 on the OWI charge and for arraignment Dec. 3 on the assault and possession charges in Dallas County District Court.


John was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI July 29 in Scott County. The case is pending in Scott County District Court.
