Armed woman allegedly steals two vehicles, brings drugs into jail

Jessica Elizabeth McIntire, 27, of Urbandale was arrested Wednesday on charges of two counts of second-degree theft, dominion/control of a firearm by a felon, second-offense possession of a controlled substance and possession of contraband in correctional institution.

An Urbandale woman with a pistol was arrested in Waukee Wednesday after allegedly stealing two vehicles and attempting to smuggle meth into the county jail.

Jessica Elizabeth McIntire, 27, of 4120 77th Place Circle, Urbandale, was charged with two counts of second-degree theft, dominion/control of a firearm by a felon, second-offense possession of a controlled substance and possession of contraband in correctional institution.

According to court records, the incident began about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday at a trailer park in the 900 block of Highland Drive in Waukee, where McIntire allegedly “stole” a Cadillac from a residence and “drove it to the apartment complex” in the 100 block of S.E. Windfield Parkway in Waukee, “where she left the Cadillac and stole a different vehicle,” a pickup truck, which she allegedly then drove “directly to Squirrel Storage, where it was located by a Waukee officer the next morning.”

At about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, McIntire was allegedly seen near the storage facility, carrying around two bags in the 900 block of S.E. Olson Drive in Waukee, according to court records. One of the bags allegedly contained a Glock 9 millimeter handgun alongside McIntire’s driver’s license.

McIntire was arrested Wednesday morning by officers of the Waukee Police Department and transported to the Dallas County Jail. According to court records, it was determined during booking that McIntire was allegedly “concealing” something “beneath a band-aid she was wearing on her left middle finger.” McIntire was “holding the band-aid tightly in an attempt to conceal” what investigation disclosed as “a small crystalline rock, wrapped inside a piece of paper towel.”

McIntire allegedly “admitted to a jailer the substance was methamphetamine,” according to court records.

McIntire in held in the Dallas County Jail on a $22,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 27 in Dallas County District Court.
