Thursday night’s kindergarten concert at the Perry Performing Arts Center was disrupted when a man in the audience stood and shouted, “U.S.A. English only. U.S.A. English only. U.S.A.”
The outburst occurred near the start of the program, when a translator was producing a Spanish version of remarks made at the event’s opening. Many people in the audience booed the man’s interruption, and he was escorted out of the auditorium by security.
ThePerryNews.com reader Juan Jose Ordonez Deleon of Perry provided a video clip of the disruption, which he called a “hate crime.” A fuller version has also appeared.
