Bice and Murphy address Perry Kiwanians

Perry Kiwanian Lawrence Bice spoke recently to the membership about his experiences in the former Soviet Union.

The Perry Kiwanis Club’s weekly speaker series continued July 7 when 45-year club member Lawrence Bice of Perry spoke to the membership about his experiences hosting a farmer from the Soviet Union in his Perry home and later visiting the Soviet Union shortly before and again just after the fall of the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy spoke at the Kiwanian luncheon at the Hotel Pattee July 14. Murphy described the library’s current programs and the numerous future events her grant-writing skills will make possible.

Murphy was welcomed by Kiwanian Kendall Rathje.
