With the seasons tipping from day to night, three PHS schoolfellows of the Class of 1977, Dirk Cavanaugh, Pat Graney and Tom Tierney, celebrated the 60th anniversary of their births with a Big Ol’ Birthday Bash (BOBB) at La Poste in downtown Perry Saturday night.
“Instead of brooding about it, were bragging about it,” said Graney, and more than 100 friends and family members joined the 60-year-olds to celebrate the perfect fall weather and congratulate their passing another milestone.
With sandwiches provided by the Perry Firefighters Association and beverages available for all tastes, the afternoon and evening event included musical entertainment by JD and the Swensongs from 4-6 p.m. and Perry’s own Rukkus from 7-11 p.m. in the parking lot of La Poste.
Old friends revived old memories, and many old stories were retold with creative embellishments. And the band played on.
