Biker loses control at Woodward interchange of Iowa Highway 141

Emergency medical workers treated a motorcyclist who spilled his vehicle after exiting the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141 at Iowa Highway 210 Thursday shortly after 4 p.m.

A one-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at the Woodward interchange of Iowa Highway 141 Thursday afternoon led to the transport of the driver to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with unknown injuries.

The Woodward Police Department, Woodward First Responders, Woodward Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS responded to the incident shortly after 4 p.m.

The cause of the mishap is unknown at this hour, but a witness at the scene said the biker “hit the curve too hot.”

The motorcyclist was apparently exiting the westbound lanes of Iowa Highway 141 and was approaching the stop sign at Iowa Highway 210 when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and entered the ditch on the north side of the exit ramp.

The motorist was treated at the scene by Dallas County EMS prior to his transport.
