Perry residents who feel most comfortable conversing in Spanish will find new help with their legal needs in Sucher Law PLC, a small firm with a new office in downtown Perry.

Trey Sucher, owner of the firm, and his associate, Tim Farmer, are furnishing their rooms and hooking up phone at 1113 Second St., the former site of the Big Chair coffeehouse.

“We’ll be officially open just as soon as we get a 465 phone number,” Sucher said Wednesday.

He said the Perry office will be doing “primarily immigration law, but we can also help with local and district court matters in criminal defense and family law.”

The dual-language lawyers are graduates of the University of Iowa College of Law.

Sucher is a Des Moines native who has lived in Iowa City since 2003, where he completed both his undergraduate and law degrees.

Farmer is from a small town near Seattle, Wa., and sat for bar exams both in Iowa and New York State.

“We’re looking forward to working in Perry,” Farmer said. “Trey works out of the main office in West Liberty, but I’ll be here in Perry every day.”
