Blood-sugar issue causes driver to enter ditch at First and 141

Marty Allen Adair, 48, 307 N.E. Mill St., Leon, was arrested shortly before midnight Monday by officers of the Perry Police on charges of first-offense OWI-drug related and driving under suspension after his vehicle entered the ditch near First Avenue and Iowa Highway 141.

A vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch near Perry late Monday when the driver’s blood-sugar level caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

There were no apparent injuries in the incident, which occurred just south of Iowa Highway 141 on County Road P58 about 11:30 p.m.

The Perry Police Department responded to the mishap, and the Dallas County EMS was paged.
