The Perry football team will host CMB for a Sports Drink Scrimmage Friday at Dewey Field. The season begins August 26 when Perry entertains North Polk.

The prep football season is fast approaching, and a sure sign that opening week is near is the annual playing of scrimmage games.

Perry visited CMB last season, so this year the Raiders are returning the favor and will be guests of the Bluejays at Dewey Field Friday.

Admission is a bottle of your favorite sports drink, which will be used by the team throughout the season.

The evening will begin with a meeting for Perry team parents at 5 p.m. with the scrimmage beginning at 6 p.m.

The Perry Booster Club will be selling pork loin meals and will be manning the Jays Nest, where fans can purchase the latest in Perry apparel.

Perry opens their season with a pair of non-district games at Dewey Field, with North Polk to visit August 26 and Nevada September 2. The Bluejays will compete in Class 3A District 2 for each of the next two seasons, with Ballard, Boone, DC-G, Gilbert, Greene County, Iowa Falls-Alden and Webster City also in the district.
